Why would I get chiropractic if I’m not in pain?
I’m trying to answer a lot of our Frequently Asked Questions on here to help everyone better understand what we do. Most people end up at our office from one of two ways: 1) they were referred in by a family member, co-worker or friend; 2) they are in pain. It is quite common when someone has back pain, headaches, migraines, hip pain, short leg or frozen shouler to seek out a chiropractor. And I’m not saying they are wrong to do so at all! But it’s like going to the post office just to buy stamps. Yes, they sell them, but there is so much more they are capable of doing. And chiropractic is just the same!
We are lucky that often spinal adjustments can help ease your pain. This is because pain is often due to one or more vertebrae being out of align and causing irritation to nerves. Chiropractors call this a subluxation. What chiropractors are really looking for are these areas of subluxation throughout your spine. That is why they will check your neck, even if you only have low-back pain. Funny as it sounds, low back pain can be caused by a misalignment in the neck.
So why would you go if you’re not in pain? Because chiropractic RESTORES LIFE through restoring and maintaining proper nerve flow. If your brain knows exactly what your body is doing, then it can tell it what to do. That means better digestion, normal blood pressure, regular hormones, regular menstrual cycles, proper elimination of wastes and better performance on the billion (yes, billion) other functions that your body does on a daily basis. So do your body a favor and get checked for subluxations in your spine by your local chiropractor!
